A resounding bravo to our two champions -
Frédéric Libert, crowned with gold,
and Sonja Custers, shining in silver.
On Saturday, five matches of seven points each decided the fates;
three victories were the key to the golden path.
Olivier Flamion and Frédéric Libert soared ahead,
five wins apiece - untouched, untroubled,
as the pack of chasers strained to join them in glory.
Then came Sunday - and once more, Frédéric reigned supreme, commanding the board,
and sealing his triumph against Paul Van Dijke in the final of gold.
Meanwhile, in the silver draw,
Sonja Custers - disguised in the calm attire of a Sunday tourist, yet with the keen gaze and quiet fire of a true contender - toppled Ronny Conaert to claim her shining prize.
The friendly winners of the Double Consultation are Bernard Bailleul and Sami Tamim El Jarkas.
